Whilst this may sound appealing, reportage style photography relies on events unfolding correctly with people being at the right place at the right time. We all know that life doesn't always unfold so perfectly and smoothly, which is why AH Photographic believe in the importance of traditional wedding photography as a foundation for professional results. Certain key photographs need to be controlled and set up to gain the right result. Organised group photographs reflect the occasion as being family and friend oriented. Even romantic shots of the couple need to be set up to an extent to ensure decent and flattering results that you will love. We have the experience that the guests and the couple may not have. Without conventional photography creating a basis for the wedding album important aspects of the day may not be photographed to their full potential. Such an approach structures the story-telling process of the album. Yet, we do realise that candid style shots can capture spontaneous moments that might otherwise be lost. Therefore we incorporate reportage photographs when such moments present themselves. Often we find that once the photographer has positioned people for a shot, they spontaneously extend the idea the photographer wants, creating natural results.
A wedding day is constricted to a tight time schedule, and therefore we are quick and efficient, maximising the time for photographs to its full potential. Before the big day, the photographer will meet the couple in their home for an informal chat to discuss the timings of the service and reception, and particular photographs the couple might want. Additionally, with digital photography, the amount of shots able to be taken is not constricted, so that you will be able to choose from a vast amount for your album.
